‘Fairy tales do not tell children that dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed’ G.K. Chesterton
People beings tell stories and throughout history our societies have been defined by the stories we have told. They remind us of who we are and crucially provide the archetypal templates that allow us to make sense of our world, and our journey through it. In fairy tales and myth, we can discover the tools we need for life, find the threads that hold us together and prepare for the challenges ahead. Recent neurobiological research has even suggested that the capacity for storytelling is a central part of brain function, creating the trust and connection upon which society itself is built.
In this webinar we will explore the importance of narrative as a foundation for human health and development and will consider practical ways in which stories can be used in coaching and consulting to access the archetypal themes of life itself.
It is intended for coaches who wants to make better understand how the stories we tell, and the universal themes that define them can help them support their clients through their own developmental journeys.
